From tree to end product
When Binthout was founded, it was immediately decided to work exclusively with native or Dutch wood. This resulted in the processing of, among other things, FSC ® certified wood from the Dutch forests of, among others, Staatsbosbeheer. In 2018, we consciously chose to keep the wood certified throughout our entire production chain, right up to the end product.
All the wood from the 100% well-managed forests is registered upon arrival and kept separate from the Stadshout trees. We continue to register in the subsequent steps from workshop to end product.
Wooden design products with FSC ® label
The products that are actually made from the FSC trees at the beginning of the chain leave our workshop with an FSC label.
The FSC label is a protected and registered trademark.
Design award FSC ® Netherlands
In 2016 and 2018, Binthout is involved as a jury member in the Design Award of FSC Netherlands. The design competition encourages young designers to be involved with the origin from the source.
