City wood Zwolle

Since the start of Binthout in 2014, we have started sawing and processing wood from the cities of Zwolle, Dalfsen, Meppel, Kampen and Hasselt in collaboration with regional municipalities.

In 2016, we bundled our activities under the name Stadshout Regio Zwolle in order to create as much support as possible for sawing the wood from the cities in the Zwolle Region; which, as a link between the west, east and north of the Netherlands, is one of the strongest growth regions in our country. The region consists of 20 municipalities in four provinces and has a population of 675,000.

The name Stadshout originated in Amsterdam, where the foundation has a sawmill and where, in collaboration with Amsterdam entrepreneurs, the municipality and private individuals, the Stadshout as a product and project returns to the city. All this under the motto Timber of the city, through the city, for the city. Also check out the website of Stadshout Amsterdam.

The collaboration with Stadshout and Regio Zwolle provides broad support for the regional reappearance of urban trees. When sawing the Stadshout, we can create a lot of employment for people with a distance to the labor market.
