The Lawrence Church
The Laurenskerk is the only building left of Rotterdam's medieval city center. Construction began in 1449 and was completed at the end of the 15th century. Since then, the tower has had a spire several times, which has also been demolished several times for all kinds of architectural reasons, including the use of poor quality wood.
In 1940 the tower was badly damaged and there was talk of it being demolished. Nevertheless, in 1962 Queen Juliana laid the first stone for the restoration, which was completed in 1968.
This city tower is cut from solid Dutch ash wood with laser cutting. Each tower has a unique look!
